PHILOSOPHICAL PICNIC IN PRAGUE

These are the hottest days of the year. We will meet on the 4th of July at the entrance of the Planetárium Praha (Královská obora 233, Bubenec, 170 21 Praha 7). From 17:00 until 17:15, we will gather in front of the planetarium. After 17:15, we shall then start searching for a nice place under the trees, where we will discuss, eat and drink together until the night…

If you like to have a philosophical conversation while enjoying the magnificent surroundings of the Stromovka Park, come and join us. You don’t need to apply and there is no entrance fee, the only condition for joining is that you bring something to eat and to drink with you. We will put all the delicious things on a blanket so that we don’t exchange only arguments…

As a lighter, more entertaining topic for our discussion on a warm summer evening, I would like to ask you to make a list of some of your favourite movies. Try to imagine you have to convince another person that these movies are great. What would you say? What makes these movies important for you? What important (philosophical) questions do these movies raise or maybe even answer? Please keep in mind, these movies, which you choose, don't need to be universally acclaimed and they don't need to be philosophical in an explicit sense, that means, they don't need to have people in the story talking about philosophical questions. Just choose something you really like and think about it...

And finally, please don't forget that it's an open air event. The weather forecast for Saturday looks good, but you never know. If it should rain on that day, the event won't take place.
