The Revolutionists by Lauren Gunderson

Directed by Andrew Ruthven

Starring Bree Welch, Shannon Emerick, Jessica Boone and Callina Situka

It's a true story. Or total fiction. Or a play about a play. Or a raucous resurrection… that ends in a song and a scaffold.

Prague Shakespeare Company is excited to present the Czech Premiere of Lauren Gunderson’s explosive and brutal comedy. The Revolutionists is a whirling fantasia of a tale about four fiery, renegade women whose lives collide during the French Revolution. At the height of the Reign of Terror, playwright Olympe de Gouges, assassin Charlotte Corday, activist Marianne Angelle, and former queen Marie Antoinette plot murder, try to beat back extremist insanity in Paris, and explore how we actually go about changing the world in this irreverent, brutal comedy.
